Veterans: using a VA Community Care referral
We serve veterans and accept VA Community Care referrals through VA TriWest. Here's how it works, in VA's own steps.
Your VA health care team decides whether community care, including massage therapy, is right for you. We can't promise coverage, but we're glad to help with the paperwork. Juanita handles billing: 253-468-4945.
Ask your VA health care team for a referral
Ask for a community care referral to Magic Touch. VA reviews your eligibility, confirms the care you need and prepares the referral. VA says this can take up to 14 days.
Schedule with us
Once you have your referral, call 253-531-5917 to book, or ask your VA team to schedule for you. If you book yourself, VA asks you to let your VA health care team know within 14 days.
Bring your authorization letter
After you schedule, VA sends an authorization letter. It's your approval for community care and shows the care you can get and for how long.
Keep track of your visits
VA only covers the care your authorization letter includes. If you need more, you or Magic Touch can request a new referral.

What to bring
- Your insurance card and a photo ID
- For PIP or L&I claims: your claim number
- A referral or prescription, if your plan requires one. Juanita can tell you whether yours does.
Good to know
Coverage depends on your plan. Some plans limit the number of visits or need a referral, so it's worth checking before you come in.
Medical massage is billed at $62.50 per billing unit. Paying yourself instead? See self-pay prices.
